Alameda in Multnomah County - is located south of Beaumont Wilshire, east of Irvington and north of Grant Park.  The homes in Alameda sit up on a south facing bluff overlooking Grant Park and are only 8-10 minutes from downtown Portland.  Many homes in Alameda have views of Mt Tabor, Mt Scott and Mt Hood it is the only close in Portland neighborhood area with such views.  The view homes are the most dramatic and expensive!  Homes behind the bluff face are no less fantastic, but the further north you go the less drama they have.  You will see Old English, Tudor, Colonials, Craftsman, Old Portland and down to bungalows, ranches and cottages that are well cared for and on manicured on city sized lots of 4-5K, except the mansions which have double, triple and quad lots.  Like most of the city neighborhoods it has an area of coffee shops, restaurants and small retail.

Beaumont Wilshire in Multnomah County - north of Alameda is home to Wilshire Park and similar home styles to Alameda and Wilshire Park only on a smaller scale and on city sized lots of 4-5K.  For homes of this size they are becoming more expensive as the neighborhood is renewed.  Many of the homes have been rehabbed with about 1/3 of them waiting for your personal touch to make them shine.  Located about 10 minutes from downtown Portland it is a nice alternative to suburban commutes if you like older homes.

Hollywood in Multnomah County - is located east of Grant Park, west of Rose City Park, South of Beaumont Wilshire and just north of I-84.  First of all let´s say this, Hollywood is nothing like it´s famous cousin with the exception of the Hollywood Theatre and it´s grand 20´s gilded style.  Personality plus with craftsman homes, local flavor, a cute downtown Hollywood, the area has that friendly neighborhood feel.  You will find some other home styles, but the area is really dominated by craftsman, with a couple of Mediterranean (California 30´s style) and some English homes sprinkled in, all on city sized lots of 4-5K.  The area has become more expensive over the years because of urban renewal.  It´s just a quick 10-12 minute hop to downtown Portland or take the convenient bus system.

Rose City Park in Multnomah County - is just east of Hollywood separated by Sandy Blvd. With I-84 as it´s southern border.   Rose City Park is named after the park by the same name in the middle of the neighborhood.  On the east side of the park is Rose City Golf Course one of the few urban golf courses in Portland.  The homes here are generally craftsman with some English styles thrown in for added flavor and on city sized lots of 4-5K.  This is another urban area that is going through the rehab process as the older owners leave and new homeowners move in, but a little less expensive than the neighborhoods around it.  It´s also a quick 10-12 minute drive to downtown Portland.
